Nurture your gastro intestinal tract – a cold drink – a hot drink

Healthy Lemon Cordial

2 Cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 cups of xylitol

2 cups of water

Stir the xylitol in the water and bring to boil in a saucepan.
Let cool
Add lemon juice.
Pour into a clean glass bottle.

Your cordial is ready to be mixed with water as you do with the commercial cordials.
Mix with natural sparkling spring water or add fizz with your soda stream.

Fruit Smoothies with yoghurt and almond/goat milk nb the seeds of fruit have evolved with humans so that any seeds digested go through the intestinal tract ( not absorbed into the blood stream).

Warm Carob Drink

Mix together in your cup
I teaspoon unsweetened carob powder
1/2 teaspoon xylitol
1 teaspoon powdered goats milk

Add hot water, stir and cool or add cold water for your preferred drinking temperature.

Pumpkin Soup
if possible use organic produce, if not available rinse vegetables with a water/vinegar mix to reduce pesticide contamination.

6 chicken legs or thighs…… we need the bones here to add to the healing power of the soup
1/3 pumpkin diced … I like butternut for ease of cutting
2 carrots diced
water to cover
Himalayan salt to taste

Gently brown chicken,
Add pumpkin and carrots.
cover with water and bring to boil.
Add salt to taste and simmer until everything is cooked.
Add parsley

Serve often and allow your small intestine to heal. A healthy small intestine allows small particles to move through into the blood stream. An unhealthy small intestine allows larger particles which attract the attention of your immune system and create an allergic response. This allergic response can be anywhere in the body and if it is the brain that inflames, our body presents with some interesting symptoms.

Elephants grieve for a friend – pay homage!

Very interesting!

Lawrence Anthony, a legend in South Africa and author of 3 books including the bestseller, The Elephant Whisperer, bravely rescued wildlife and rehabilitated elephants all over the globe from human atrocities, including the courageous rescue of Baghdad Zoo animals during US invasion in 2003.
On March 7, 2012 Lawrence Anthony died.
He is remembered and missed by his wife, 2 sons, 2 grandsons and numerous elephants. Two days after his passing, the wild elephants showed up at his home led by two large matriarchs. Separate wild herds arrived in droves to say goodbye to their beloved man-friend. A total of 31 elephants had patiently walked over12 miles to get to his South African House.

Witnessing this spectacle, humans were obviously in awe not only because of the supreme intelligence and precise timing that these elephants sensed about Lawrence’s passing, but also because of the profound memory and emotion the beloved animals evoked in such an organized way:
Walking slowly – for days – Making their way in a solemn one-by-one queue from their habitat to his house. So, how after Anthony’s death, did the reserve’s elephants — grazing miles away in distant parts of the park — know?
“A good man died suddenly,” says Rabbi Leila Gal Berner, Ph.D., “and from miles and miles away, two herds of elephants, sensing that they had lost a beloved human friend, moved in a solemn, almost ‘funereal’ procession to make a call on the bereaved family at the deceased man’s home.”
“If there ever were a time, when we can truly sense the wondrous ‘interconnectedness of all beings,’ it is when we reflect on the elephants of Thula Thula. A man’s heart’s stops and hundreds of elephants’ hearts are grieving.
This man’s oh-so-abundantly loving heart offered healing to these elephants, and now, they came to pay loving homage to their friend.”
Lawrence’s wife, Francoise, was especially touched, knowing that the elephants had not been to his house prior to that dayfor well over 3 years! But yet they knew where they were going. The elephants obviously wanted to pay their deep respects honouring their friend who’d saved their lives – so much respect that they stayed for 2 days 2 nights without eating anything. Then one morning, they left, making their long journey back.

Healthy Immune System for Immunisation

The intent of the immunisation schedules recommended by health authorities is to support the immune system and nudge it into awareness of invading microbes, creating a gentle response by the body to these microbes, rather than going more debilitating response.

Knowing that the immunisation process will activate the immune system it is a healthy idea to support the immune system. Quite often we do not know when the immune system is going to be called on to work. With the immunisation schedule you know when the immune system is going to be demanded to work.

In preparation Vitamin C and zinc are the guys to help the immune system. For nursing mothers increased regular supplementing may assist in developing the child’s reaction response. Placing a small amount of Vit c from one of the fruit powders for 2-3 days before and after the immunisation.
Echinacea is a well known herb for immune support.

The body has neurovascular points and meridian points which support the immune system.

1.Tap gently between the eyebrows to get more energy to the pituitary gland – the organising gland of the body.
2.Tap the point or general area under the armpit on the side of the body this is Spleen 21.
3.Tap the points under collar bones these are the Kidney 27s.
4.Tap the sternum which runs down the middle of the rib cage,as the Thymus is tucked away under there and the gentle tapping stimulates the thymus. The thymus works to release white blood cells ready to fight disease.
This can be done regularly and could be included in the bath bed routine.

Something else to consider is that when your body is in stress mode, and that can be caused by many things, the polluted air you breathe, the EMFs from computers, Tvs and mobile phones, nutrient poor foods, emotional stress, ….. back to the point. When your body is in stress mode, caught in fight or flight and the adrenalin and cortisol are being pumped through your body, your body does not send energy to the immune system..too busy to fight the tiger.

Slow down the adrenal response by
Breathing gently and deeply.
Gently push the skin together under the arch of your foot so the flexor hallius longus relaxes
Gently massage down your calves..you no longer need to get ready to run away
Now the adrenals have slowed down the thyroid can work again, rub between the rib bones either side of your sternum

Get the brain integrated by breathing in and out of one nostril and then the other.

SUGAR is now known to turn the immune system down so limit or get rid of sugar in your diet.

If there are signs of distress and high fever the aim is to relieve the stress and support the temperature. While a high temperature is an indicator that the immune system is working, sustained high temperature may need a health practitioner’s support. Relax into a tepid bath with eucalytus oil, massage with lavender and eucalyptus oil… there is an increasing body of evidence to avoid over the counter pain relief as there is some confusion over the side effects of these products in relation to the vaccines.

Recent research has identified a protein in wheat which is exactly the same structure as a pertussis molecule. Following vaccination the immune system is ready to attack this molecule. Eating wheat causes the same inflammatory response. This is a possible reason for reactions to measles immunisation and another reason to look at reducing or eliminating gluten.

Living with Aspergers, ADD and Autism

What is aspergers?
What is autism? Is my child autistic?
Questions many parents ask themselves when they sense that their child is not the same as the other kids in the classroom.

The classroom is the place where every parent wants their child to fit in and achieve according to developmental guidelines/milestones. But alas it is also the place that research points out only caters for the learning styles of 15% of the population.

15% of the population so mum and dad take it easy. An institution which historically only caters for 15% is going to be in the habit of labelling the other 85%. The realisation that not every child is individually catered for in the school system and contradicting educational policy, is part of the harsh learning curve for the parents of these 85%.

Success in the education of children with disabilities and those different and hard to cater for learning styles falls back on the parents.

Some Considerations

Have you had your child assessed for retained Primitive Reflexes? In utero and the first few months of life a baby develops and uses Primitive reflexes which eg help the baby move and develop in the womb, actually go through the birthing process and develop muscular strength and sensory awareness. These reflexes stop working as the postural reflexes allow for rolling, sitting crawling running.

How cute that those early grasping reflexes and suckling can lead onto the development of writing and speaking skills

To assist you in this area locate a kinesiologist who is trained in Neural Organisation Techniques and Primitive Reflexes. Some chiropractors are trained in Primitive Reflex treatment.

Use Kinesiology to identify excesses and deficiencies in vitamins and minerals which are impacting on health, particularly zinc, magnesium and Vit B12.

A quiet, hidden and often ignored condition is that of pyphoria.

Pyphoria is a liver and blood disease where the heme molecule is either depleted or damaged. It is often undiagnosed and fits into the reportedly rare category when, in fact it quietly presents as common conditions and so this lends itself to possible ineffective treatments.
While the heme molecule is familiar to you as hemoglobin the carrier of oxygen, the heme molecule is also part of the structure of an enzyme Cytochrome P450 which is found throughout the body cells and in larger quantities in the liver.

If you have a problem with CYP450 you may present with a variety of problems ranging from depression, allergies, anemia, attention deficit. You may become angry after drinking coffee, alcohol and generally not cope well with stress. you may have a skin reaction as your liver and kidneys struggle with toxic overload. You may struggle with your weight as hormones and toxins are recycled.

A diet devoid of caffeine, alcohol, gluten, preservative will help to reduce the toxic overload that someone with porphyria is sensitive.

Dr Stephen Rochiltz has brilliantly researched this area and has books available through http://www.equilibrium.com.au

Balance in your Life

Do you want develop greater balance in your life?

Find ways of recognising and reducing stress in your life?

Narelle will work with you to create that balance and free up suppressed energies so you have energy to live.

Relationships, career, health, nutrition, beliefs and habits will change as you learn to recognise your individual stress signals and use simple techniques to move away from limitations.

Use Kinesiology to find out about what is stressing your body. If you are using your energy up for stress you have less energy to live. Living is what we are here for.

Kinesiology is a therapy which uses muscle testing so that the body can give you and the practitioner information about the stress that you have in your body. Any symptom or pain – physical, emotional or mental- you have, is an indicator that somewhere and for some reason your body is holding onto a stress reaction.

Muscle testing enables information from your unconscious mind to be accessed to find out what is actually contributing to your symptom. Rather than dressing a wound, whether it is a physical wound or mental or emotional, kinesiology works to find out the underlying causes so that healing is more effective.

A very popular application of kinesiology is with left right brain integration and activation of the frontal cortex  to improve learning. This does not just apply to school children but to everyone who finds that stress makes it difficult to complete tasks.

Easy kinesiology testing can identify foods that are good for you, belief patterns that don’t work for you. Everyone can do muscle testing to be able to make better decisions for a happier, healthy life. A kinesiology balance with a practitioner will work with deeper issues.
